Boots Dual Action Carb and Fat Control is a multi layer tablet formulated to reduce the amount of fats and complex carbohydrates absorbed by the body. The outer layers contain KAPTUFAT 600 which binds some fat from food within the stomach, reducing its absorption, while the inner layer contains Captocarb, which is designed to reduce the amount of complex carbohydrates digested and absorbed.

Boots Dual Action Carb and Fat Control is a medical device intended to support the treatment of excess body weight and obesity as part of a reduced calorie diet with appropriate levels of physical exercise and lifestyle changes.

Before you take this product

Do not take:

If you have a body mass index (BMI) below 18.5
If you are pregnant or breast feeding
If you are hypersensitive or allergic to bean or bean derived products, chitosan, simethicone or any other ingredients contained in this product.
 
How to take this product

Check the foil is not broken before use. If it is, do not take that tablet.
Tablets should not be removed from the blisters until the time of usage.
Swallow the tablets with 2 glasses of water (approx. 400ml), directly before a meal.

To help lose weight or prevent weight gain    2-4 tablets    Twice daily before 2 of your main meals
Do not break, bite or chew the tablets.
It is recommended to drink at least 1.5-2 litres of water during the day the product is taken.
Do not take product for more than 30 consecutive days.


 
Hazards and Cautions
Talk to your pharmacist or doctor:

If you have diabetes (see leaflet for more information)
If you are taking ANY other medication, especially prescribed medicines, including warfarin, those for the menopause and oral contraceptives. Please note, if you have lost weight your existing medication may need to be reviewed.

Any medication should be taken at least 2 hours before or after using this product.

Warnings:
Children under 12 years of age should not take this product. Children aged 12-18 years should only use this product under medical supervision.
Do not take more than the amount recommended.
If you are unable to lose weight or maintain your current weight whilst taking this product, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place under 25C.

Use by the date on the end flap of carton.
Ingredients
Each multilayer tablet contains:

External Layers for immediate gastric release: 600mg of KAPTUFAT 600
Internal layer for delayed intestinal release: 50mg Captocarb

As well as the main ingredients above, each tablet also contains: microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, hydroxypropylmethlycellulose, silicon dioxide, hydroxypropylcellulose, maltodextrin, glyceryl behenate, croscarmellose sodium, polyvinlypolypyrrolidone, vegetal magnesium stearate, talc, colouring agents (iron red oxide, riboflavin).
